Ballet and Body Image: What needs to change?

Half Hour Call Podcast Season 2 Episode 1

Due to popular demand, we’re back with a second season of our Podcast Half Hour Call.  Here’s a taster of what to expect in series two.

It’s no secret that ballet has its fair share of issues with body image. How do we bring about meaningful change in the industry? In episode one, Scottish Ballet CEO/Artistic Director Christopher Hampson is joined by Scottish Ballet Soloist Grace Horler, with Influencer, Content Creator and former dancer with some of America’s most prestigious ballet companies, Kathryn Morgan. This episode explores body image in the ballet industry and how we bring about meaningful change.

Please note: this episode contains conversations about body shaming, body image and mental health. If you are concerned about your mental health visit mentalhealth.org.uk or smah.org.uk or call your local emergency services in a crisis.

I think sometimes it’s easy for people to forget that we’re just humans. We’re not extraordinary. We can sometimes do extraordinary things on a good day, but we can have bad days because we are humans
