Since 1866, Edinburgh-based fine jewellers Hamilton & Inches has established an esteemed reputation. Home to some of the world’s finest craftspeople, jewellery and luxury watches, they are focused on investing in the future of the craft and fostering talent amongst the next generation.
It was a natural fit for Hamilton & Inches to join Scottish Ballet’s corporate network and sponsor a company dancer. It is an authentic partnership, based on the parallels between a dancer’s career and that of a master silversmith — the years of training and discipline, refining and honing of skills, and the ongoing pursuit of perfection.
In early autumn 2023, former Principal Bethany Kingsley-Garner was selected by Hamilton & Inches as their sponsored dancer. Having joined Scottish Ballet in 2007, Bethany’s dedication to her craft, exquisite artistry and technical excellence made her the perfect embodiment of Hamilton & Inches’ values. As Bethany prepared for retirement in early 2024, Hamilton & Inches supported her during her final season with the company.
As the featured dancer in the Cinders artwork, Bethany was able to model a range of iconic Hamilton & Inches pieces, chosen in collaboration with Cinders designer Elin Steele and complementing the Art Nouveau style of the redesigned production. Hamilton & Inches also enjoyed getting to know Bethany through bringing guests to performances and post-show meet and greets, benefitting from the dancer perspective behind the scenes.
Now Bethany has taken her final bow, Hamilton & Inches looks to the future and the continuation of their Sponsor a Dancer relationship with Scottish Ballet. They will be supporting Principal dancer Roseanna Leney during 2024, and we look forward to watching this partnership continue to sparkle.
As Scotland’s house of timeless luxury, we are deeply proud of Hamilton & Inches’ connection to Scotland’s arts and rich cultural heritage. Our partnership reflects our shared appreciation of the dedication, energy and passion required to showcase excellence, whether through fine jewellery craftsmanship or a beautiful ballet performance.’
