Three dancers in a studio with their arms stretched up over their heads

Beginners ballet

This class is recommended for those with some ballet experience. During the term, you will develop and build on your ballet technique.

For beginners with some previous ballet experience and basic knowledge.

In this class, you will go over the fundamentals of ballet before developing and building on your technique and exercises. We recommend this class if you have some previous ballet experience and knowledge of basic ballet positions, but would still consider yourself a beginner.

We offer one studio class and two online classes via Zoom per week. Each class lasts for 60 minutes.

These classes are open to those aged 16 years and over.

For the online classes you will need to be in a clear space where you can move your legs and arms freely and have something to balance with; a sturdy chair or a kitchen counter top.

For both classes please wear comfortable clothing-  but not too loose.  For studio classes, please wear soft-soled ballet shoes and for online classes either soft-soled ballet shoes or bare feet. (Whichever you feel is safest for your flooring.)  We recommend drinking water to stay hydrated throughout the class.

It is very important you tell us of any health issues that may impact on your participation, by completing a short form when you sign up for the class. If you are pregnant, have an injury, or an existing medical condition we would recommend that you seek professional advice before booking and attending a class.

If you are unsure about anything, please contact us: classes@scottishballet.co.uk
