In 2023, Scottish Ballet did a call-out to its own company of dancers, asking them to pitch ideas for a short film that they would like to create and choreograph, with support from the production team and in-house film director Eve McConnachie.

Three short films were produced; Breathless, How Much Squid Is Too Much Squid and Shadowash.

Framed as a stream of consciousness, How Much Squid Is Too Much Squid makes light of the banal thoughts that cross our mind while walking down the street and the constant overload of information we are bombarded with today.
