With the kind permission of The Royal Ballet, Scottish Ballet has been delighted to welcome Ryoichi Hirano as Principal Guest Artist in our production of Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s The Scandal at Mayerling.
Ryo joined us at the start of the tour as Crown Prince Rudolf and continues this week at His Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen from 5 – 7 May. Hirano played the same leading role in The Royal Ballet’s production of Mayerling in 2018.
About his tour experience with us, Hirano shares:
‘Working with Scottish Ballet has been absolutely amazing. Everyone from the dancers to the artistic and technical teams gave me the warmest welcome and support during The Scandal at Mayerling production. Visiting a new city and dancing in a theatre I’ve never performed in has been a great experience too. Touring with Scottish Ballet has been the greatest opportunity for me to get to know the dancers and team more. I’m so grateful to be a part of this company and work with such inspirational artists!’
