Coppélia to have London premiere in March 2023

Following critical acclaim at the Edinburgh International Festival 2022 and a hugely successful Scottish tour, we are excited to announce that Coppélia will now tour to London’s Sadler’s Wells in March 2023.

With a modern adaptation of the traditional ballet, it’s Coppélia…but not as you know her. Choreographed and directed by UK-based duo Morgann Runacre-Temple and Jessica Wright (known as Jess and Morgs), this production of Coppélia will warp your sense of reality, leaving you wondering what is real and what is artificial as you are lured into Dr Coppelius’ world of robots and clones. With elements of pre-recorded and live film on stage, audiences are given access all areas within the NuLife lab – bringing you closer to the story than ever before.

One of the best things I’ve ever seen in my life. Just wow!

The original Delibes score is reimagined as part of an extraordinary new composition by Mikael Karlsson and Michael P Atkinson, described in The Telegraph as an ‘entirely new, richly cinematic, orchestral-electronic creation’. The new score is performed live by the Scottish Ballet Orchestra.

During its world premiere, Coppélia performances saw theatres hit capacity with sold-out shows and rave reviews from audiences and critics alike. Audiences have asked ‘pass me a party hat’ after seeing the iconic work party sequence and several Edinburgh International Festival attendees claiming Coppélia as their ‘festival highlight’. Since then, we’ve received high demand to tour Coppélia again and we can’t wait to bring our five-star ‘ground-breaking’ production to London in 2023.

We’ll be in London at Sadler’s Wells from Thursday 2 March 2023 – Sunday 5 March 2023, book now to avoid disappointment – you do not want to miss this!

★★★★★ I heard so many good reviews but still was not prepared for how amazing this production would be. Go see it if you can!
