Owen Belton lives in Vancouver and graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1993 with a degree in Fine and Performing Arts (concentration music), studying acoustic, electroacoustic and computer music composition. He has been composing for dance for the last 30 years or so, as well as creating sound design and music for live theatre and film for the past 17 years. He has also made scores for Circus and indoor and outdoor film installations. Owen has created pieces for The Paris Opera Ballet, Ballet Nürnberg, The National Ballet of Canada, The Stuttgart Ballet, The Monte Carlo Ballet as well as Nederlands Dans Theatre and Kidd Pivot. He has been collaborating with Crystal Pite for over 30 years.
