Yann Seabra is a London-based stage and costume designer whose work spans dance, opera, theatre, film, and television. Trained at the Motley Theatre Design School in London, he has built a versatile portfolio through collaborations with leading companies and artists, including the Royal Ballet, Rambert, San Francisco Ballet, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Protein Dance, Northern Ballet, Ballet Moscow, Ballet Black, Düsseldorf Ballet, and Karlsruhe Ballet.
His ongoing collaborations with acclaimed choreographers and directors—Annabelle López Ochoa, Arthur Pita, Yaron Lifschitz, Luca Silvestrini, Hélène Blackburn, Marion Motin, Kate Price, Julia Cheng, Shelley Maxwell, Sophie Laplane, and Mthuthuzeli November—anchor a body of work defined by multidisciplinary collaboration and evocative storytelling. Notably, Ingoma (Olivier Award for Best Dance Production) for Ballet Black stands among his most acclaimed projects.
Recent work includes the Carnaval of Rio de Janeiro commission, created with Thiago Soares and Imperatriz Leopoldinenses, underscoring his ability to translate culture and spectacle into immersive design. In screen, Yann’s design and collaboration span indie feature projects, as well as Netflix, Apple TV, and Amazon MGM, including the Oscar-nominated The Confession, highlighting his versatility across live performance and screen formats.
