Romeo and Juliet danced by Monique Loudieres and Manuel Legris is one of the ballets that made me want to pursue dance as a career.

Seira trained at Yukiko Takada Ballet School, the Australian Ballet School, and the Royal Ballet School. She has danced with Semoeroper Ballett (Germany), caraBdanza (Spain), and Julie Cunningham & Company (UK).

What career moment are you most proud of?

Dancing David Dawson’s Swan Lake with Scottish ballet.

What’s your favourite place in Scotland (and why)?

Pollok County Park, because of the highland cows and my dogs loves them too.

What’s your favourite ballet to watch (and why)?

Romeo and Juliet danced by Monique Loudieres and Manuel Legris. This is one of the ballets that made me want to pursue dance as a career.

What do you like to do on your days off?

I like to spend my day off with my pets.

What does ‘home’ mean to you?

Home is being around people where I feel safe and to be my authentic self.

What’s your hype song?

Hamilton!

What makes you smile?

My husky and two cats.

What’s your favourite book/movie (and why)?

Portrait of a Lady on Fire by Celine Sciamma. Beautifully made and a beautiful love story. Every shot of the movie feels like art.

Also, Monster by Hirokazu Koreeda. A powerful and gut-wrenching story of humanity’s flaws.
