Marlen Fuerte Castro is an internationally acclaimed Cuban ballet dancer, currently serving as Principal Guest Dancer with Scottish Ballet. She began her training at the prestigious National Ballet School in Havana, Cuba, and went on to become First Soloist with the National Ballet of Cuba. During this time, she performed leading roles in major classical works such as Swan Lake, Giselle, The Nutcracker, and others.

Shortly after, she joined the Víctor Ullate Ballet in Madrid as a Principal Dancer, where she expanded her repertoire with both classical and contemporary creations. She later continued her career as Principal Dancer with the Nice Opera Ballet, performing iconic roles such as Le Corsaire, Roland Petit’s Carmen, Cinderella, Don Quixote (Kitri), among others.

Her talent and stage presence earned her recognition as a Star of the Ballet at the Opéra National du Capitole, where she took on standout roles including Who Cares? by George Balanchine, Romeo and Juliet, and Jiří Kylián’s Petite Mort.

Throughout her career, Marlen has received numerous accolades and awards. In 2019, she was honored with the Léonide Massine Prize in Positano, Italy, in the category of Best Dancer on the International Stage.
