Scottish Ballet welcomes young dancers aged 14-21 from across Scotland to a brand-new October Dance Intensive at Scottish Ballet HQ in Glasgow as an introduction to our Youth Exchange Programme.

This five-day Intensive, running 13 – 17 October 2025, will provide you with workshops in ballet, contemporary and choreography delivered by a range of renowned guest artists and choreographers as well providing you with the opportunity to learn from industry professionals, providing an exciting insight into the dance sector and its variety of professional pathways and opportunities.

Who is the Intensive for? 

If you are aged 14 – 21 and aspiring to follow a career in the dance industry then this fun, fast-paced Intensive is perfect for you! You can take part in the October Intensive week if you are studying Higher Dance, attend weekly dance classes or you are currently in full time dance training. We’re welcoming a range of technique levels and backgrounds to take part as long as you have a passion for dance, a spark of creativity and a drive to pursue a career in the industry.  

What can I expect? 

• Workshops to develop your technical, creative and performance skills Monday – Friday 9.30am – 4.pm at the Scottish Ballet studios in Tramway, 25 Albert Drive, Glasgow, G41 2PE.
• Daily ballet and contemporary technique classes led by a range of guest artists.
• Daily talks and Q+As with a wide range of professionals from the sector, providing insight and guidance to the world of dance.
• Opportunity to learn from professional dance artists and work closely with other young dancers from across Scotland in the studios of Scotland’s National Dance company.
• Insight into Scottish Ballet’s Youth Exchange programme with exciting updates on this year’s brand new programme!

Application and Fees 

There will be no audition for the Intensive, simply complete the application form provided. The Intensive will require a one-off fee of £100 with a limited number of financial waivers available via eligibility application.  

There are a limited number of places for our October Intensive and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. To take part in the October Intensive 2025, please apply via the application by Friday 26th September 2025 at 5pm.
