Javier de Frutos is a unique figure in the world of dance with a résumé that includes West End musicals, a Turner Prize nomination, Olivier and Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards, music videos and a full-length ballet in collaboration with the Pet Shop Boys. 

Elsa Canasta is a dark, funny and sexy evocation of the music of Cole Porter. In the shadows of the music hall, bodies intertwine in breathtaking partnering as a live singer sets the mood with sensual songs. Elsa Canasta demonstrates de Frutos’ love of the explicit and controversial while bringing magic and humour to this rarely performed piece.
