Stamina for Swan Lake
Silver Friends event
IN PERSON AT SCOTTISH BALLET
This event is now sold out. Please get in touch with olivia.calder@scottishballet.co.uk to be added to our waiting list in the event of any returns.
This spring will see the long-awaited return of a classic in Scottish Ballet’s repertoire: David Dawson’s Swan Lake. Premiered in 2016, and scheduled to tour in 2020, this modern classic will finally return to the stages of Scotland to enchant audiences once again.
With its arching backs, spiralling arms and mesmerising patterns, this choreography is exceptionally physically and technically demanding. Join us at Scottish Ballet’s Glasgow HQ to hear from Principals Roseanna Leney and Evan Loudon about how they prepare to take on the iconic roles of Odette/Odile and Seigfried. We’ll also hear from Head of Performance Medicine Martin Lanfear about how he and his team ensure the whole company have the stamina and endurance for such an intensive work.
You will also be treated to a glimpse into studio rehearsals ahead of the opening night.
Limited to 40 guests. Refreshments will be served. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
