Visiting Scottish Ballet

Our building is next to Tramway in Glasgow’s southside. This is where our dancers rehearse, our staff work, classes are held, and our sets and costumes are made.

Arriving at Scottish Ballet

If you’re coming to Scottish Ballet as a visitor or for a meeting, you will enter through the Scottish Ballet entrance off Pollokshaws Road, near the entrance to the Hidden Gardens. Follow the white line painted on the ground which leads to a green door. Please make sure to stick to the path because the yard can be busy with cars and trucks. There is a green sign that says Scottish Ballet, so you know you’re in the right place. Ring the reception buzzer to be let in. There is a flight of 32 steps up to the reception and studios level.

If you’re coming to one of our Adult Ballet classes in the evening, you will enter through Tramway’s stage door, as Tramway is closed to the public during the class times. This is the next door on the right after the green Scottish Ballet door. You will be greeted by a member of Scottish Ballet staff to get signed in and escorted upstairs to the studio.

If you’re coming to one of our Dance Health classes in the daytime, you will enter via the Tramway main doors on Albert Drive. There is a short flight of 31 stairs to the left of the entrance that will take you to the Scottish Ballet Engagement Studio.

Lifts

Inside Scottish Ballet we have a large service lift which can be used to reach each level of the building. Scottish Ballet staff will accompany you. When you arrive at Scottish Ballet and ring the reception buzzer, let us know if you require the use of the lift and we can let you in the correct door.

For Dance Health class participants, the Tramway entrance is wheelchair accessible, with lift access to the first floor where you can find the Engagement Studio. The lifts are on the right, past the centre staircase, when you enter from Tramway’s main doors.

Parking

Free on street parking is available. The yard in front of the Scottish Ballet entrance off Pollokshaws Road is not available for public use.

Please note that the Gurdwara car park is for visitors to the Gurdwara only. For class participants with mobility issues we can arrange paid parking at the Gurdwara. You will receive a car park booking form a week before your term of classes is due to start.

Changing Facilities and Toilets

There are gender neutral toilets available including an accessible toilet with an emergency pull cord.

If coming to a dance class, please arrive dressed to dance. There will be space in the studio to keep your belongings beside you.

We like to maintain good ventilation in the studio at all times, so please bring extra layers to ensure you stay warm throughout.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are most welcome in our building. We can also provide water bowls.

Breakout spaces

During your visit we can accommodate you with a quiet break out space. Let us know in advance if possible but do not hesitate to ask on the day and we’ll be able to help.
