David Dawson

Born in London, David is Associate Artist at Dutch National Ballet, Associate Choreographer Semperoper Ballett and a prolific international dance–maker.
David’s work is in the repertories of many companies including Boston Ballet, Teatro alla Scala, English National Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, Semperoper Balett, Mariinsky Ballet, National Ballet of Japan, Royal New Zealand Ballet, West Australian Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Philadelphia Ballet, The Royal Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Bayerisches Staatsballett, Royal Swedish Ballet, Norwegian National Ballet, Finnish National Ballet, Scottish Ballet, Staatsballett Berlin and Wiener Staatsballett.
Among his works are full-length productions of Romeo and Juliet, Tristan + Isolde, Swan Lake and Giselle. Other significant works include Legacy Variations, Voices, The Four Seasons, Citizen Nowhere, Anima Animus, A Million Kisses to My Skin, Empire Noir, Requiem, Four Last Songs, Affairs of the Heart, The Human Seasons, Faun(e), On the Nature of Daylight and timelapse/(Mnemosyne).
David received the prestigious Le prix Benois de la danse Award for his breakthrough ballet The Grey Area. As the first British choreographer to choreograph for Mariinsky Ballet, he created the Golden Mask Award-winning Reverence. He received the Choo-San Goh Award for The Gentle Chapters and Golden Swan Award nominations for Overture and 00:00.
