Application Process & Support

Inclusion

One of Scottish Ballet’s values is inclusion. We are committed to treating those we engage with fairly and with respect, irrespective of actual or assumed background, disability or any other protected characteristic.

Our aim is ultimately to assemble a diverse team that bring a wide range of skills, knowledge and experiences and who help us to create a welcoming and safe inclusive environment.

Available Support

We would like to do as much as we can to support you with completing your application. If you have a disability, a learning difference such as dyslexia, a medical condition or individual need – which you believe may affect your performance in selection – we’ll be happy to make adjustments to our processes to enable you to perform at your best.

Please let us know if you require extra support at any stage of the application process by emailing recruitment@scottishballet.co.uk .

Alternatively, you can call us on +44 (0) 141 331 2931 (textphone prefix 18001).

The Application Process

The application process could involve elements of the following:

  • Creating or updating your CV (tell us about your background and your transferable skills).
  • Creating a cover letter (tell us why you would be right for the role and also about your interest in the role).
  • Face-to-face interview (our preference would be to meet you in person and to show you the environment we work in).
  • We may also ask you to prepare a task in advance and to discuss this with us.

All of the above may involve reading and writing, using a computer, interpreting information, discussions, presenting and meeting members of the Scottish Ballet team.

Interview Questions

Our questions are people-centric and focus on transferable skills. We want to allow you to best represent how you meet the job requirements.

The kind of questions you can expect to be asked are:

  • What made you apply for the position?

  • Tell us about your experience of working in a culturally diverse environment, how do you establish & maintain productive working relationships?
  • How do you help to make people feel included in a space?
